Sony Computer Entertainment President Ken Kutaragi has confirmed that PSP production may be outsourced to another company, as demand for the PSP is already outdoing Sony's ability to produce.
GamesIndustry.biz reported, which points out that the handheld console has still not been released in Europe, which is anticipated in early September. From the article: "At present, there is only one factory producing PSP consoles - the Kisarazu facility east of Tokyo, which manufactures around one million units per month. Sony has previously announced plans to double this figure by the summer as it continues the fight to compete with Nintendo."
I think that will be good for Sony. Obviously with the many problem units that have been shipped, Sony is manufacturing the PSP too quickly for it's own good. I mean I am on my forth unit. Luckily I love the PSP so much or I probably would have given up on it by now but it is just to dang pretty!!! _________________ Don't Hate the Player, Hate the Game |
