This goes out to all you true Soccer fans begging for some great futbol on your new Sony PSP. Unfortunately, it appears that FIFA Soccer is not that game. Ign.com recently reviewed FIFA Soccer and gave it a 7.0 out of 10. Not for presentation though. FIFA Soccer has every league, license and player, just like the console version which is extremely impressive. To be able to pack all that into a UMD disc is very impressive. Yes, as far as I am concerned UMD may be the wave of the future, especially with the new BLU-RAY laser on the way. The sound is in top notch EA form as usual. The announcing and the EA Trax are all there. It's a shame the graphics were not given great detail though. The graphics received a 6.5 out of 10 due to many jaggies and poorly lit and rendered players. I was hoping after the release of World Tour Soccer, that FIFA would be able to destroy it but in the end, looks like 989 outdid EA. The freestyle and First Touch innovations translated horribly to the PSP because they are mapped to the D-PAD and that is out of the way. Don't plan on playing online either because that will only make the gameplay issues even worse due to some major lag. Hopefully, EA Sports is able to work out these issues. Anyway, looks like we will have to wait for next season with many of the EA Sports titles. The only thing I can attribute this to is that EA had to rush to get these titles out for the PSP. They probably should have put more work into them and released a better product, but who am I to say. Stick with World Tour Soccer!
