MLB for the Sony PSP is a very good baseball game and opens the baseball season for Sony very nicely. MLB definitely does take after it's big brother on the PS2 which is a good thing. It looks like 989 sports is making a comeback into the game both on the PS2 and the PSP. The textures in MLB are very impressive, especially the players. The commentary is very good with Dave Campbell and Matt Vasgersian. While the commentary is not as deep as it is in MLB 2006 for the PS2, it is straight forward and too the point. I am always getting a crack out of what they have to say. It is very entertaining if I do say so myself. MLB has a very good season mode and probably a first for handhelds. The Sony PSP is here and it is here to stay. Ign.com recently reviewed MLB and gave it an 8.0 out of 10 which is very good. The gameplay is very nice and it has this new feature which is Guess the Pitch. If you guess right, you as the hitter have an advantage over pitcher, get it wrong and the pitcher has the advantage. It is a very cool idea indeed. Anyway, great start to the baseball season on the Sony PSP. While MVP Baseball is coming out on March 17 for $50, it is hard to say at this point which will be the better offering. While MVP will probably have better presentation, will the gameplay be up to par, we will have to see. For now, if I were you, I would pick up MLB if you are looking for a good baseball game!
