Well, this could very well be Sega's and Visual Concept's last hoorah in the baseball genre and they really didn't go out with a bang!! Even though presentation wise, it is so ESPN orientated that if you are an ESPN fan, it doesn't get much better! While MLB 2K5 cannot keep up with MVP Baseball 2005 this year, it still does many things right. Ign.com gave MLB 2K5 a 8.5 out of 10. The graphics are good but the animations straight kill the game. It is unexusable to allow that to be in a final product, especially after so many years of providing great animation. The presentation is what makes this game a must buy especially for $19.99. If they would just decide on a style of hitting and pitching and go with it, things would be better, but instead they offer way to many sliders and it ruins the fun of the game. The sound is probably the best part of the game. Like for example, if Johnny Damon comes to the plate, someone in the crowd yells out "Cut your hair Hippie." That is outstanding. This year with MLB 2K5 being $19.99 and MVP Baseball only being $29.99, you probably will want to go with MVP. Better luck next year if there is a next year.
