Have any of you ever played Warrior of Rome II? I would have to say that was probably my most favorite game on the Sega Genesis. Here is a screenshot of the cover:

Here are some screenshots of the game during play:

The game had both a one player mode and a one on one player mode. The game was set back in Roman times and even though the graphics wouldn't compare to anything to today, the gameplay was perfect. There was two sides basically and the goal was to conquer your opponent. You would start with a few units and from there you could start obtaining experience for your units by building things such as castles, colosseums, or shipyards. Once a Castle was built it would grow larger as villiages built up around the castle. With Castles you could create new units which would take away from some of the villager population. If your villager population got too small either due to your opponent attacking the villages, or due the to fact you assembled too many unites too fast, your castle would shrink back down to a smaller size.

One of the best aspects of the game is how your units can obtain skills. For example some of the skills in the game were: building, speed, boats, archering, and fighting. The more your unit(s) experience these skills they better they get. If a unit ever dies you will lose all of the experience you had gained with that unit, so it is best to always try to rescue units who are about to die as that experience can add up for you.

Anyway my hope is that one day another game similiar to this will come out on one of the newest gaming consoles, as I have never seen anything like it since.
